What we collect

Account data — email address and password (for authentication)
Family profiles — names, ages, weights, heights, activity levels, goals, allergies, and food preferences you enter for your household members
Recipe data — recipes you save, including ingredients, instructions, and nutrition
Pantry and shopping data — items you log in your supplies and shopping lists
Usage data — anonymised analytics to understand how features are used

How we use it

Your data is used solely to provide the PlateSync service — calculating portions, generating meal plans, building shopping lists, and improving the product. We do not sell your data to third parties.

AI processing

Recipe discovery and cataloguing uses AI (Google Gemini via OpenRouter). Your recipe search queries and ingredient data are sent to the AI provider for processing. No personal health data (family member profiles, weights, ages) is sent to AI providers.

Data storage

Your data is stored on a self-hosted Supabase instance on a Hetzner VPS in Germany. All connections are encrypted via HTTPS. Row-level security ensures your household data is only accessible to members of your household.

Data deletion

You can delete your account and all associated data at any time by contacting us. Email support@hcdigital.com.au.
